Fixed Income Trading Analyst

Responsibilities

Execute securities purchases across a range of taxable fixed income sectors including US Treasuries (Bills, Notes, Bonds, and TIPS), Government Agencies, and Corporates
Support cash management
Perform portfolio construction for TIPS mandates
Monitor market liquidity and pricing to continuously track positions
Incorporate pricing strategies into trade executions
Provide information to portfolio managers and research analysts to support the team’s investment strategy
Maintain and develop effective trading relationships with our counterparties
Develop strong working relationships with MFO / SFO professionals to support their fixed income trading needs
Understand the specific needs and restrictions imposed by clients
Partner with portfolio managers to monitor the consistent execution of strategy and risks related to our client portfolios
Remain current on applicable regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures
Act as an interface between portfolio management and trading and various BBH constituents, including relationship management teams and RSOs, as well as Enterprise Risk Management, and Marketing
Encourage and demonstrate strong team behaviors
Provide subject matter expertise on general fixed income matters, as needed
Fulfill ad hoc requests for analysis, presentations and reporting materials for the Municipal product

Required

1 to 3 years of relevant experience
Bachelor's degree, with a strong academic record required, MBA preferred but not required
Ability to analyze complex issues and make sound decisions
Strong relationship building and management skills
Thrives in an open team environment with frequent interactions among our investment professionals
Strong financial acumen and analysis skills
Rigorous attention to detail and good time management skills
Excellent conceptual and critical thinking skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience with spreadsheet and database products required

Preferred

Knowledge of BBH products, services, practices and investment philosophy, a plus
Knowledge of fixed income trading processes and tools preferred
Knowledge of the regulatory environment for fixed income securities and trading, a plus
CFA designation, a plus
