Director of Accounting
Rello Search Partners is recruiting for a Director of Accounting in Tampa to manage the department and team. This role involves overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, and preparing financial statements for a fast-growing SaaS company.
Responsibilities
Responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, SEC financial reporting and internal controls compliance
Prepare financial statements, support quarterly and annual filings and ensure that the company’s accounting policies and procedures meet the demands of a public company environment
Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Assist with the preparation of quarterly (10-Q) and annual (10-K) SEC filings, including footnote disclosures and MD&A support
Research and implement new accounting pronouncements
Key role in compliance, risk management and partnering with other departments to provide accurate and timely financial information
Develop and maintain accounting and finance policies, procedures, and programs
Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
Provide guidance on complex transactions (e.g., revenue recognition, software capitalization, business combinations, stock-based compensation, lease accounting)
Ensure financial statements comply with US GAAP, SEC and other applicable regulatory requirements
Oversee intercompany accounting and foreign currency accounting
Coordinate with internal and external auditors by preparing audit schedules, providing supporting documentation, and addressing audit inquiries in a timely manner
Assist with forecasting, budgets, strategic planning, job costing, deal analysis and negotiations, and institutional financing
Collaborate with FP&A to provide variance analyses, financial trends, and operational metrics
Play a lead role in ERP and systems architecture initiatives implementing automation and process improvements across accounting and finance operations
Manage and develop teams with varying levels of responsibility, fostering growth and performance at all levels

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
10+ years applicable experience; 2+ years in a supervisory role
CPA license required
MUST have technical accounting research experience; SEC filings (10-Q & 10-K) and financial reporting highly desired
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local statutes governing the US General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Must have exceptional leadership, communication and inter-personal skills; presentation skills is also a must
Preferred
MBA preferred
Big 4 audit experience highly desired
Microsoft Dynamics GP experience a plus
Experience in SaaS, start-up and technology/software development environments highly desired
