Responsibilities

Provide systems engineering support to the Systems Engineering team and stewardship of technical teams in the development, verification, delivery, and operations of Missions, Segments, Elements, and Subsystems
Support the proper allocation, traceability, and verification of requirements at all levels through the lifecycle of the program
Interact with multiple subject matter experts across disciplines to develop the required allocation analysis and verification artifacts
Interface with and support the program’s lead system engineer, chief engineer and customer
Support expectations, preparations, and delivery for major gate reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, PSR)
Coordinate requirements verification with I&T activities
Coordinate with and assist other engineering disciplines and IPTs as assigned
Use Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) for architecture to requirements traceability and interface development
Mentor other system engineers assigned to the team
Support the program Risk & Opportunity Management and ERB processes
Prepare and give presentations to peers, management, and customers
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment
Perform other duties as necessary

Required

BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 2 years or more related experience
Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education
No clearance is required, but the successful candidate must have ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph clearance
Related experience in either mission systems, spacecraft systems, ground systems or payloads preferred
Experience using requirements database tools (DOORS, Jama, Cameo Requirements Modeler, e.g.)
Experience with Cameo Enterprise Architecture, SysML and DoDAF/UAF/UPDM
The ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams including meeting schedule and performance goals
Demonstrated ability to review effective and verifiable requirements – detail oriented
Demonstrated experience in systems engineering processes, including requirements development, requirement allocation, change management, verification and validation – a self-starter that will own this activity with the proper guidance
Good presentation skills with experience presenting to senior decision making and technical audiences

Preferred

A current, active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with Poly
Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary teams including meeting schedule and performance goals
Customer Relationships: extensive knowledge of missions and customers across core technologies areas. Knowledge/experience working with critical customer base, established relationships with key personnel within customer community
