Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain automated systems and tooling using code-first approaches
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines that improve developer velocity and system reliability
Write clean, maintainable Python code for automation, tooling, and backend-style systems
Work extensively in Linux environments, including Bash/shell scripting and system-level development
Build, deploy, and support containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
Manage and evolve cloud infrastructure, primarily in AWS
Define and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
Partner closely with software engineers, data engineers, and platform teams to support evolving systems and workflows
Contribute to improving operational maturity, reliability, and developer experience
Qualification
Required
Advanced education is a plus; PhD preferred
Strong Python development experience, especially for automation, tooling, or backend systems
Solid Linux development experience, including Bash/shell scripting and system-level understanding
Proven experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar) - this is a baseline expectation
Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS (other cloud providers acceptable)
Experience building and supporting containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes; Deeper Kubernetes expertise is expected for senior-level candidates
Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform
Strong research skills, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to rapidly learn new technologies and domains are highly valued
Demonstrated ability to solve problems through code, not just configure or operate existing tools
Preferred
Exposure to or interest in Databricks (depth not required; curiosity and adaptability are key)
Experience with Airflow, particularly in production or platform contexts
Familiarity with data-, analytics-, or ML-heavy environments where DevOps intersects with data platforms
