Responsibilities
The initial goal for this specific internship will be working with the Float Line Process Engineers and Process Technicians, to begin learning about the Float Glass Process, and to assist in the technical care and control of the Process
Understanding of Hot Repair Practices
Create a working knowledge of the Mechanical and Electrical Systems that make up the Float line and what it takes to keep a 24/7/365 facility operational for a 20-year Campaign
Automation of processes and standardized reporting
Time studies and lean process improvement to achieve operational excellence
Alarm Rationalization and identifying Gaps in the process that need data logging
Defect Analysis
Supporting the process team in Projects and day to day operations
Qualification
Required
Enrolled in a Mechanical, Chemical, or Ceramics Engineering degree program
Eligible for full time employment on or before Summer 2028
Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship
