Responsibilities

Serve as the primary technical liaison between project stakeholders and the Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) engineering team
Contribute to project scheduling by estimating task durations and the effort required for engineering design deliverables
Evaluate vendor submittals, equipment modifications, programming changes, and deviation requests, driving technical decisions
Act as the responsible engineer for assigned I&C systems and equipment, overseeing design, procurement, installation, and construction while ensuring compliance with requirements and standards
Lead development of digital and analog control systems, including DCS, PLC, and DAQ, through technical review of vendor documentation and deliverables
Collaborate with engineering disciplines to select and specify instrumentation for measuring and controlling critical process variables
Coordinate with auxiliary and support teams to ensure proper power distribution and integration for I&C equipment
Prepare instrumentation specifications, calculations, and test plans to support system design, construction, commissioning, troubleshooting, and long-term operation
Develop and review cable routing, conduit and raceway layouts, installation drawings, wiring details, and loop diagrams for I&C systems

Required

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related technical discipline
5+ years of experience in relevant I&C engineering roles
Knowledge of I&C systems, hardware, software, theory of operation, equipment environmental and seismic qualification (EQ) testing, and plant start-ups
Experience finalizing specifications and design documents for vendor implementation on plant control and safety-related systems
Experience with analog and digital instrumentation, control, and monitoring
Ability to think strategically and take decisive action once information is gathered
Ability to critically evaluate information and ask bold questions
