Responsibilities

Support material planning and execution activities across assigned value streams, ensuring on-time availability of materials to meet production schedules
Support critical shortages, while helping to develop and execute recovery plans in partnership with operations, procurement, suppliers, and engineering
Attend daily planning calls – ensure material shortage data is up-to-date and prepared for review with the materials manager and operations team
Analyze backorder and material shortage reports and place Purchase Orders to ensure correct materials are on order
Collaborate with internal suppliers and stockroom to ensure parts are transferred, stocked, and issued to the floor on time
Follow up on high-priority material shortages, escalate as needed
Monitor demand changes & inventory levels, and action accordingly
Adjust Purchase Order quantities based on increased/decreased usage of materials
Review and analyze stock levels for inter-company stock transfer requests – if approved, collaborate with stockroom to create delivery and transfer parts
Identify and ensure material coverage for high-priority programs
Use data-driven approach to recommend forecast and inventory adjustments to SIOP Manager as needed
Explore ways to clear up shortages if parts are not immediately available
Work with engineering to determine if an alternate material is available
Search for available stock in other inter-company plant sites and collaborate with material planners at those sites to set up stock transfers
Request expedites from suppliers
Prioritize safety and quality, and follow all EH&S guidelines when working on the shop floor
Participate in continuous improvement events as needed to improve efficiency of shop operations

Required

Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
Working experience within a supply chain, materials planning, or similar role

Preferred

Working experience with SAP (or an equivalent MRP/ERP system), with ability to troubleshoot and optimize system usage
Working experience with inventory management principles, supply chain strategy, and production scheduling
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
Experience creating and analyzing reports in Tableau or similar tools
Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
