Responsibilities

Maintains and administers core networking devices including firewalls, switches, routers, wireless controllers, and access points
Maintains and administers various wide area and local area networks to ensure correct functionality and configuration
Maintains and administers VOIP phone systems and networks
Is the primary point of contact for vendors and partners on network related issues, products, and services
Performs periodic network inventory and configuration audit tasks
Leads IT projects and works them to completion
Schedules and coordinates network hardware maintenance windows with support personnel
Remote support and on-call hours may be required on a rotational basis
Maintains and implements the processes, policies, and procedures that deal with network services and equipment
Researches and tests new and emerging systems and network technologies; makes recommendations to the Operations Manager
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

A minimum of a B.S. degree in computer science or engineering is required. Alternatively, an additional 4 years (14 total) highly relevant full-time working experience may be considered in lieu of a 4-year degree
Minimum of 10 years of full-time, relevant working experience in network design and support including LANs, WANs, and wireless is required
Design and supporting VOIP systems or QoS/CoS
Network protocols (BGP, MPLS, VPN, OSPF, TCP/IP, STP)
Authentication / authorization technologies (802.1x, NAC, Aruba Clearpass, Cisco ISE, or equivalent) and ACLs
VPN technology (site to site, IPSEC, always on VPN clients)
Experience with all levels of network hardware (switches, routers, firewalls)
Supporting and working with environments supported by service providers
Demonstrated technical documentation ability
Demonstrated professionalism and skills to communicate effectively with internal departments

Preferred

Working in a highly-regulated industry
Familiarity with Fortinet, Aruba OS, Aruba OS-CX
Certifications in relevant areas (Cisco, Aruba, others)
Linux support and administration
Experience with 21 CFR Part 610 or ISO 25746
Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810
