Responsibilities
Participates in large-scale research projects
Conducts field sampling and/or maintains data collected from field projects as assigned
Ensures quality control of data, reports, or other products as needed
Operates and maintains vehicles, trailers, vessels, and scientific sampling equipment
Works safely from vessels in offshore and nearshore waters
Works from remote field stations and/or travels as assigned
Summarizes data and generates/reviews figures, analyses, and text for technical reports
Participates in regional working groups as needed
Represents LDWF with professionalism in all public events and forums
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in a biological science, marine science, environmental science, wildlife or fisheries, animal science, forestry, or natural resources
Knowledge of commercially and recreationally important fisheries in the Gulf of America
Knowledge of Louisiana aquatic organisms
Knowledge of research and evaluation methods
Good observational and analytical skills
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively, in a team environment
Ability to multitask
Ability to communicate orally and in writing
