Responsibilities
Writes technical materials, such as equipment manuals, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions
Checks documents for spelling, grammar, organization, consistency, and content
May assist in layout work
Ensures that documents follow the appropriate style guide and editing workflow process
Leverages and implements where possible the Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Information Processing (FIP), Government Printing Office (GPO), or commercial documentation standards as appropriate to the assignment
Performs more independent thinking and difficult tasks
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalency
Six (6) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency
Familiarity with standards for documentation formats, editing workflows, and configuration management
Ability to work closely with technical editors, technical writers, or authors to ensure repository publication processes are followed
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely
Ability to obtain Public Trust Security Clearance
U.S Citizenship is required
Preferred
Active Public Trust security clearance
Prior experience writing documentation within a federal government or defense environment
Ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask
