Responsibilities
Oversees all aspects of the accounting processes culminating in the monthly & annual closing of the finances, books and records
Establishes, or recommends to management, major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for company
Recommends modifications to existing corporate programs
Prepares reports which summarize and formulate company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present and expected operations
Directs preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification
Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities
Provides management with timely reviews of organization’s financial status
Directs determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets
Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions
Arranges for audits of company’s accounts and preparation of the annual tax returns
Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies
Reviews contracts, agreements and liases with legal counsel when necessary
Directs the implementation and maintenance of the manufacturing accounting software
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or 5 - 10 years of related experience
GAAP knowledge
Must have month end closing experience
Previous supervisory experience
Experience maintaining relationship with bank, legal insurance representatives
Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities
