OSP Telecom Engineer
Housley Communications is a telecommunications company seeking an OSP Telecom Engineer. The role involves pre-field design and layout of the OSP telecommunications network, including aerial, buried, and underground fiber and copper network design and layout, while collaborating with OSP Design Engineers.

Responsibilities
Understand Telecom engineering practices and able to read and design prints
Research existing record information, including records, system maps, plans, client data, plant info, and right-of-way / land-based documents
Understand ROW and easement requirements for application submission
Ensure telecom system records accuracy and make corrections as necessary
Obtaining cable pair, route, equipment, and customer information
Prepare information in various formats (e.g., diagrams, spreadsheets) for executive management, sales, construction project management, field operations, and network operations when requested
Assist in the accomplishment of company objectives by performing other related duties as assigned
Evolve with new technology to keep up with a fast-growing industry
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in the fiber-optic/telecommunications/telecom construction industry
Knowledge of outside plant activities (Fiber Cable Design, Pole Line Construction, Conduit System design)
Must understand DOT plans, road, and railroad crossings, and other complex ROW issues
Understand permit application processes
Problem-solving to following standard practices, using judgment within defined policies and guidelines
Ability to read and understand as built prints, and be able to identify conflicts with existing outside plant facilities, select routing of lines and equipment required for projects
Ability to learn new technical systems and tools
