Responsibilities

Experience all aspects of the organization as you are rotated through all the MSS functions that support the LANL mission
Provided with facility system and supervisory training that will enable you to lead a team providing direct oversight of maintenance craft and subcontract work performing facility maintenance as well as facility upgrades
Provide initial field experience, supervisory and leadership skills for those candidates that are interested in an operations and/or facilities management career
Demonstrated minimal experience and skill in identifying problem areas, investigating alternative solutions, and determining action to be performed on problems affecting maintenance programs
Ability to understand and interpret various mechanical and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics
Demonstrated minimal skills to utilize and manipulate a computerized work management system, personal computer software, and site licensed programs in creating and maintaining maintenance reports
Ability to understand configuration management process as it pertains to facility modifications
Demonstrated minimal skills in the preparation and presentation of oral and written reports
Ability to conceptualize and professionally communicate major elements of facility maintenance to both technical and non-technical components

Required

Knowledge of engineering systems and calculations, applications of engineering methods, and application of technology aided engineering tools to conventional facility and operations-based engineering problems, work planning, control methods, techniques, and construction methodologies
Introductory knowledge of Engineering principles and procedures, design guides, and appropriate standards
Understanding of project and process engineering practices
Ability to understand work hazards, safety practices and lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures for LANL facilities
Ability to understand work control, maintenance and/or materials management
Demonstrated minimal experience and skill in identifying problem areas, investigating alternative solutions, and determining action to be performed on problems affecting maintenance programs

Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 2 years of practical work experience
Current registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is highly desirable

Preferred

Understanding of Laboratory's facility maintenance policies, practices, and procedures
Demonstrate knowledge of DOE standards applicable to facility design, operation, and maintenance
Active Q clearance
