Advanced Design Tools (ADT) Stress and Life Engineer
GE Aerospace is seeking a Stress and Life Engineer to join their Advanced Design Tools organization. This role involves developing and maintaining mechanical analysis software for evaluating the stress and life of jet engine components, collaborating with engineering design teams, and enhancing proprietary stress and life tools.

Responsibilities
Enhance and maintain GE Aerospace proprietary stress and life tools
Partner with the GE Aerospace Life Methods team to ensure tool capabilities reflect the latest methods and requirements
Integrate transient material behavior and third-party platforms with stress and life tools as needed
Engage with the broader ADT team to provide and receive feedback throughout development, testing, and project handoffs for optimal project execution
Work closely with engineering design communities and tool end-users to provide support as well as beta test and refine new tool features
Modernize and improve tool code architecture, enabling shared and distributed parallel computing via GE Aerospace high-performance computing resources
Manage tool compilation across different platforms and operating systems as needed
Operate within an Agile software development environment, applying best practices and standards to meet goals for application quality, performance, and release cycles
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Metallurgical Engineering
Minimum of 3 years of applied mechanical or metallurgical engineering experience, including fatigue and finite element analysis
Familiarity with ANSYS APDL
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
Solid programming background
Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
Relocation to Cincinnati, OH

Preferred
Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Computer Science, or Metallurgical Engineering
Background in alloy material behavior
Familiarity with composite materials
