Responsibilities
Perform patient-oriented procedures, tasks, and workflows from patient check-in to check-out at all LLUHC sites
Provide MA coverage to the various LLUHC Departments as requested/required
Perform other duties as needed
Qualification
Required
Proof of completion from a Credentialed or Nationally Recognized Medical Assistant (MA) program
Minimum of up to one year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant
Basic Life Support- Provider Course (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Valid/Current unrestricted California Driver's license
Valid/Current auto insurance
Knowledge of outpatient clinic front office and back office practices and policies
Able to consistently and effectively use computer keyboard
Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality
Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position
Operate/troubleshoot basic office/patient care equipment required for the position
Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others
Work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure
Collaborate and accept direction
Communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone
Think critically
Manage multiple assignments effectively
Organize and prioritize workload
Work well under pressure
Problem solve
Recall information with accuracy
Pay close attention to detail
Work independently with minimal supervision
Distinguish colors and smell as necessary for patient care
Hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone or other electronic mode
Identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace and patient care
See adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to the position
Discern temperature variances through touch necessary for patient care
Preferred
Two years' experience as a Medical Assistant
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) user
Phlebotomy certificate
