Construction Manager
Milhouse Engineering and Construction, Inc. is a Chicago-based firm focused on innovative engineering and construction solutions. They are seeking a Construction Manager responsible for overseeing all phases of construction projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and compliance with quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities
Manage and oversee daily construction operations
Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules, budgets, and work plans
Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure alignment on project requirements and expectations
Review and approve project plans, blueprints, and specifications
Monitor construction progress, proactively addressing delays or issues
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards
Conduct regular site inspections to evaluate progress and resolve issues
Prepare and present project status reports to senior leadership and stakeholders
Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services
Lead and mentor construction staff, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and performance excellence
Negotiate contracts, change orders, and dispute resolutions when necessary
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field from an ABET accredited institution
10 + years related experience, including commercial construction management experience and experience working with public entities or related roles
Skilled in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet-based tools
Knowledge of CPM schedule analysis and applicable construction codes and standards
Ability to work safely in a construction environment while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards
Guides and mentors others, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement
Effectively interacts with diverse technical and business audiences
Identifies issues, analyzes risks, and develops resolution strategies
Monitors individual and team morale, evaluates effectiveness, and drives improvements
Produces clear, audience-specific technical and business documentation
Preferred
Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Memberships and accreditations from the following and similar societies, associations, and organizations: American Concrete Institution, American Institution of Steel Construction, American Society of Testing Materials
