The role involves coordinating activities to achieve SMP objectives, providing training for regional counselors, and assisting Medicare beneficiaries with enrollment and information.

Responsibilities
Coordinates and performs activities to achieve the SMP objectives per grant guidelines
Develops and provides SMP trainings for regional counselors and coordinators
Monitors each regional program (face-to-face) once per year
Completes SMP semi-Annual program progress reports according to ACL guidelines and timeframes
Submits report drafts to supervisor two weeks prior to the due date
Attends ACL yearly conference and participates in teleconference calls as stipulated in the grant
Provides enrollment assistance and relevant information to Medicare beneficiaries as well as SHIP counselors in accordance with ACL guidelines
Serves as back-up to the SCDOA SHIP Coordinator
Enters client contacts in STARS monthly
Other duties as required to include, but no limited to, participation in the SC Department on Aging outreach events
Qualification
Required
A high school diploma and relevant program experience
Knowledge of Medicare program and services
Ability to exercise judgment and discretion
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent public presentation skills
Preferred
Experience in Medicare fraud and investigating healthcare fraud
