Responsibilities

Work semi-independently
Assist in managing CAD and production efforts
Perform other duties as may be assigned
Perform structural analysis and design of structural members such as beams, columns, walls, joists, and foundations
Develop structural models that mathematically define and idealize the actual structure being designed
Use approved codes and standards to define structural demands on buildings due to wind and seismic loadings
Analyze and design connections of the various structural elements in a building structure
Perform analysis needed to evaluate seismic risk in existing buildings using approved structural codes and standards

Required

A four-year degree in Structural Engineering or a related field
Experience with computer analysis software systems
Excellent leadership, supervisory, and writing and verbal communication skills
Being comfortable consulting to architectural practices
Working as part of a multi-discipline design team
Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment (or demonstrate ability to develop such abilities)
Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities (or demonstrate ability to develop such abilities)
Able to maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Able to work independently as well as on teams
Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale

Preferred

Master's Degree in Structural Engineering
Internship in the structural design of buildings or similar structures
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
