Responsibilities
Equipment Management: Operating, tuning/calibrating, maintaining, and cleaning screening analyzers (including but not limited to AU5800 and AU2700 chemistry analyzer series)
Sample Management: Managing high volumes of samples. This requires the ability to organize, prioritize, and keep track of specimens while simultaneously testing and receiving new ones
Data Entry: Entering test results and data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
Inventory Control: Maintaining inventory and organizing supplies. Appropriately notifying the Laboratory Supervisor/Manager when supplies are needed
Quality Prep: Preparing calibrators and/or controls when necessary
Documentation: Filling out logs and paperwork as directed by the Laboratory Supervisor/Manager
Performance: Meeting a daily quota of specimens processed
Workspace Maintenance: Maintaining a clean workspace throughout each shift and performing a full cleanup at the end of each shift
Collaboration: Effectively communicating and working with colleagues/associates in order to optimize workflow and maintain smooth operations
Compliance: Maintaining the quality of the laboratory by providing scientifically defensible results. This requires an understanding of and ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining HIPAA compliance
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Understanding of cross-contamination and how to avoid it, with a focus on high-volume sample management
Ability to use independent technical judgment in order to analyze and interpret laboratory results
Preferred
B.S. or equivalent experience in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, toxicology, or other related science
