Staff Engineer Systems Test

Responsibilities

Technical authority for program activities
Coordination with project management, project leads and engineers, and functional management
Creates and manages large scale system and subsystem Test Program Plans
Working closely with design IPTs to develop methodologies to test system and subsystem hardware
Provide shock and vibration Signal Analysis Support. Expertise with data acquisition, filtering, power spectral density, Shock Response Spectrum
Expertise with Vibration Control methods
Support the planning of the verification and validation program. Document the approach, philosophy, guidelines, and processes to perform and manage verification activities
Familiar with MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-331, MIL-STD-2105, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464
Provide Test Engineering guidance to the team. Review and approve TE developed artifacts
Lead and direct the testing and/or evaluation/validation of complete system and subsystem test programs. Knows how to troubleshoot system thermal and dynamic behaviors
Leads, prepares and presents Systems Test engineering materials during SRR, SDR, SFR, PDR, CDR, SVR and other formal program reviews
Leads and / or Support Failure and Analysis activities
Performs and manages cost estimates and project planning for a significant portion of larger project
Perform CAM duties: manage cost, schedule, technical performance and monthly EVMS reporting

Required

Requires BS in Engineering, & 15 years' experience or Master's Degree & 10 years' experience or PhD & 8 years' experience
Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
Familiarity with various military standards (e.g MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-331, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, MIL-S-901, MIL-STD-2105, JOTP-052 and JOTP-053)
Understanding of energetic components, materials, and test methods
Experience with climatic, vibration, mechanical shock, Electromagnetic Effects (EME), and Insensitive Munitions (IM) Testing
Familiarity with available signal analysis tools such as MATLAB, and MS EXCEL
