Account Executive - Affordable Housing Software
Neighborly Software is seeking a seasoned, mission-driven Account Executive to accelerate growth for their Affordable Housing software solution. This role involves owning the full sales lifecycle, driving new logo acquisition, and expanding existing client relationships across the public sector.
Responsibilities
Own and grow a pipeline of new and existing clients, from prospecting through close and expansion
Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities through targeted outreach, lead generation, and strategic market engagement
Build deep expertise in the affordable housing landscape, including the challenges and priorities of PHAs and local governments
Partner with existing clients to understand their existing business challenges and uncover expansion opportunities
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Implementation teams to deliver compelling, solution-oriented software demonstrations
Represent Neighborly Software at industry conferences, trade shows, and association events as a thought leader and trusted partner
Maintain accurate forecasts and pipeline reporting, providing regular visibility into territory performance and opportunities
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience with public sector software sales with a proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding annual quotas AND/OR comparable experience administering affordable housing programs in a public sector environment, demonstrating consistent performance and results
Deep understanding of the affordable housing and community development ecosystem, including federal, state, and local funding and compliance programs such as LIHTC, HUD and FHA programs, Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8), HOME, and related reporting and monitoring requirements
Passion for helping local governments and community organizations improve outcomes through the use of technology
Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and written communication skills; ability to build credibility, trust and long-term relationships with senior executives and technical buyers
Extensive experience using CRM platforms and maintaining strong data hygiene
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop and execute effective sales plans
Preferred
Experience working at or selling to housing authorities, housing finance agencies, affordable housing developers, or property management companies serving subsidized housing
Familiarity with property management and affordable housing software solution
Professional certifications in affordable housing (e.g., HCCP, SHCM, TCS) or sales (e.g., Certified Sales Professional)
Existing network of contacts within the affordable housing industry (NAHMA, NAHRO, NCSHA, state housing finance agencies)
