Engineering Technician, Semi Commercial Testing

Responsibilities

Collaborate with test engineers & technicians in vehicle test execution including, but not limited to, test setup, inspections, diagnosis, part retrofits and driving
Communicate directly to various engineering teams in status updates and problem solving using various methods (e.g. Email, MS Teams, JIRA)
Support various teams within the engineering organization where priorities is required
General shop maintenance & upkeep
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Time Management: Independently manage your time to successfully complete parallel assignments, ensuring efficient use of resources and meeting project deadlines

Qualification

Required

5+ years in automotive service industry with Technical/automotive ASE (or equivalent) certification
Advanced diagnosing capabilities on electric/hybrid vehicles, NVH, low/high voltage, CAN communication, and use of meters, oscilloscopes, and hi-pot
In-depth understanding of full vehicle systems: Chassis, Suspension, Powertrain, Low/High voltage electronics, Closures, Air conditioning, and Body controls
Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint) and Tesla systems (e.g., Jira) for communication and reporting
Ability to prioritize tasks under tight deadlines and maintain strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and flexibility to work long hours/weekends as required
15% U.S. travel commitment and ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) if not already held

Preferred

3+ years of engineering prototype/product validation experience
Basic fabrication skills (bandsaws, drill press, mig/tig welding) and instrumentation knowledge (accelerometers, thermocouples, strain gauges)
Experience with vehicle/controller firmware deployment and diagnosis
