Operations Manager In Training - Cedar Rapids Fulfillment Center
Nordstrom is a specialty retailer that has been in business since 1901, and they are seeking an Operations Manager in Training to join their Supply Chain team. This role is designed to prepare future leaders through hands-on experience in Fulfillment and Distribution Centers, focusing on building leadership and operational skills.

Responsibilities
Participate in trainings, meetings, and workshops that cultivate leadership and management skills
Support current Supply Chain Operations Managers in executing daily departmental processes to meet goals and objectives
Rotate between departments, shifts, or buildings to gain a deeper understanding of operations
Coach and mentor warehouse associates to drive performance and professional development
Assist with employee selection, onboarding, and training to build strong teams
Prioritize ongoing safety efforts to ensure a safe work environment
Use data and analysis to improve departmental performance
Communicate effectively to report on KPIs, bridge performance gaps, and track progress on projects and process improvements
Gain exposure to warehouse systems and continuous improvement processes
Partner with Site Support teams such as Human Resources, Safety, Production Control, Inventory, and Transportation to solve operational issues
Uphold Nordstrom’s core values by bringing your authentic self to work and fostering an inclusive environment
Drive KPI metrics and facility performance scorecards using 4DX principles
Qualification
Required
2+ years of warehouse/fulfillment experience in a DC/FC or a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree with a Supply Chain Management focus or a related field with an anticipated graduation date of Spring 2026 or have graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field within the last 18 months
Early-career leadership exposure: approximately 0–1 year of people-leadership experience (formal or informal)
Comfortable working full-time on-site in a hands-on fulfillment environment, including occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
Able to adapt to various shift schedules (mornings, nights, weekends) to gain exposure to 24/7 operations
Open to relocation during or after the program for expanded career opportunities
Seeking a career that combines fulfillment expertise, operational problem-solving, and people leadership in a fast-paced environment
