Mechanical Engineer (HVAC & Plumbing)
Cyntergy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer to join their multi-discipline engineering team. This role focuses on supporting the design and development of HVAC and Plumbing building systems across a wide range of project types, including commercial, institutional, and government facilities.

Responsibilities
Assist in the design and layout of HVAC and plumbing systems under the direction of licensed engineers
Perform engineering calculations, including heating and cooling loads, ventilation analysis, and equipment sizing
Develop construction documents, including drawings, schedules, and details, using industry-standard software
Assist with HVAC system design including air distribution, hydronic systems, and equipment selection
Support plumbing system design including domestic water, sanitary, and storm systems
Coordinate design efforts with architectural, structural, electrical, and other engineering disciplines
Participate in internal design reviews and quality control processes to ensure accuracy and consistency
Support project planning, scope development, and schedule adherence
Assist with construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals
Learn and apply applicable codes, standards, and best practices related to mechanical building systems
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a closely related field
0–4 years of experience in mechanical engineering, HVAC design, plumbing design, or MEP consulting (internships and co-ops included)
Fundamental understanding of HVAC and plumbing systems
Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), and Microsoft Excel; exposure to load calculation or energy analysis tools is a plus
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Preferred
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or intent to obtain
Interest in pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
Exposure to building codes and standards (IMC, ASHRAE, IPC, etc.)
Internship or co-op experience in an A/E or MEP consulting environment
