Responsibilities

Facilitate instruction and monitor progress in Adult Basic Education, GED, ESL, computer literacy, workforce development, prerelease, and cognitive self-change programs for the incarcerated population
Additionally, coordinate reformative programming initiatives with external vendors, contractors, community businesses, and volunteers while managing the institutional library and computer lab

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in education, counseling, social or behavior sciences or a closely related field
One year of journey level paraprofessional experience in educational or vocational education programs or services
An extensive background investigation will be required for successful applicants
Working with inmates requires care in observing institution security policies and procedures and may involve personal risk
Some positions perform activities that require bending, crouching, walking or standing for long periods of time
Some work activities involve discomfort or unpleasantness such as moderate noise levels, vibration, dust, dirt or odors associated with operation of equipment and/or tools in performance of duties
