Responsibilities
Lead the planning, administration, and design of structural bridge projects, ensuring compliance with state and federal standards
Conduct detailed structural analysis, seismic analysis, and design for various bridge projects
Develop and review engineering calculations for reinforced and prestressed concrete, steel structures, and other materials
Prepare comprehensive engineering reports, plans, specifications, and estimates
Utilize engineering software packages such as Midas Civil, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, L-Pile, LEAP Bridge Steel, and MathCAD for project delivery
Ensure timely delivery of PS&E contract documents, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across various geographic locations
Conduct quality control and assurance activities to maintain high standards in project execution
Apply advanced seismic design principles and non-linear analysis techniques to bridge projects
Develop quantities and cost estimates, ensuring projects stay within budget
Collaborate with CADD technicians to develop detailed bridge plans and specifications
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, code requirements, and client objectives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
A Professional Engineer (PE) license in Oregon and/or Washington, or be able to obtain within 6-12 months after starting
5-10 years of experience as a bridge engineer, including design, plan preparation, structural analysis, seismic analysis and design, quantity calculation, and construction support services
Proficiency with MicroStation (ORD a plus) and Civil3D
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing tasks, projects, and professional staff
Proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets
Strong understanding of structural behavior and mechanics of materials
Ability to independently and accurately complete engineering calculations for reinforced and prestressed concrete and steel structures
Preferred
Structural Engineer (SE) certification is a plus
Experience with ODOT and WSDOT projects is a plus
Familiarity with engineering software packages such as Midas Civil, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, L-Pile, LEAP Bridge Steel, and MathCAD is a plus
Advanced understanding of seismic design principles and non-linear analysis techniques
Familiarity with timber and masonry design is a plus
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications (including MS Project)
