Quality Engineer

Leidos Electronics Manufacturing is seeking a talented Quality Engineer. The role involves supporting mechanical and electronics manufacturing, performing quality planning, and analyzing QA requirements for aerospace and defense manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Support mechanical and electronics manufacturing including SMT and soldering of PCBA’s and assembly integration and testing for aerospace and defense manufacturing
Perform program quality planning
Analyze program QA requirements
Develop inspection/test procedures and revies process plans
Finalize source inspection checklist
Coordinate review nonconformance documentation and support root cause/corrective action
Reviewing AS9102 FAI documentation
Working with DCMA and other government quality assurance agencies
Collection and reporting of Quality Metrics
Reviewing and approving new drawings
Supporting project managers during design
Manufacturing readiness reviews
PDR
CDR
APQP
PPAP
DFMEA
PFMEA
Conducting supplier surveillance audits

Qualification

Required

Candidate must possess a Bachelors degree with 4-8 years of experience or a Masters degree with 2-6 years of experience in an ISO9001/AS9100 system or equivalent experience in DOD, Aerospace, or Automotive manufacturing quality control. In lieu of a degree a High school diploma/GED with 10 years of experience will be considered
Candidate should have working knowledge of IPC-a-610 and IPC-J-STD-001
Candidate must have experience working with non-conforming material, performing failure analysis, identifying root cause and implementing corrective action
Must have experience writing procedures, reviewing work instructions for accuracy and completeness and implementing QMS documentation associated with AS9100
Candidate must be able to review and interpret contract quality clauses and technical data and develop and document appropriate quality verification procedures, plans, and work instructions, including AS9102 First Article Inspection documentation
Candidate must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
Must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment
The position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams
Candidates must be a resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to the area or willing to relocate to the area
Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain/maintain a final secret security clearance

Preferred

Experience using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
Knowledge of Systems Engineering
Experience working knowledge with Assembly integration and Testing
Prefer knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC-J-STD-001 Space Addendum
