$21/hr - $23/hrOerlikon is a global leader in surface technologies and advanced materials. They are seeking a Machinist Intern to learn and perform intricate manufacturing using manual and computerized machining operations to fabricate parts and components for various systems.

Responsibilities
Works from blueprints and specific instructions to machine and fabricate standardized parts and assemblies
Operates one of the machine tools, such as lathe, milling, grinding and drill press using available jigs and fixtures. Adjusts feeds and speeds for materials being machined to specific tolerances
Performs bench operations on machine parts using standard hand-tools such as scrapers, files and stones
Use all machine shop measuring and gauging devices to align and/or machine metal, or plastic parts to meet required specifications
Operate and maintenance machine in optimal operation following maintenance schedule ( TPM)
Keeps tools and work area in a safe, clean and orderly manner. (5S routines)
Use all prescribed personal protection equipment (PPE) where deemed necessary; Follow established environmental, health and safety policies, procedures and work instructions associated with assigned duties and work location
Performs other duties as required
Qualification
Required
Knowledge equivalent to high school, with six months to one year technical and apprenticeship training
Should be able to use and understand shop mathematics
