Responsibilities

Architect and implement cutting-edge graphics features and APIs that enable immersive and highly visual experiences
Analyze and optimize the rendering pipeline to ensure consistent frame rates within thermal and power constraints
Collaborate with QA and engineering teams to develop comprehensive test suites that guarantee reliability of the ecosystem
Lead peer reviews of architecture, API design, and code changes to foster a culture of technical excellence
Work closely with technical artists, human-interface designers, and cross-Apple teams to translate creative concepts into production-ready technology
Mentor and coach junior engineers by sharing best practices and promoting code quality
Utilize pioneering graphics research to develop production-ready solutions that power RealityKit

Qualification

Required

Bachelor of Science degree
5 years of experience in developing 3D real-time rendering applications
Proficiency in writing secure and high-performance C++ code
Knowledge of the graphics pipeline, modern rendering techniques, and image processing
Experience with modern graphics APIs (Metal, Vulkan, Direct3D 12, WebGPU) and shading languages (MSL, HLSL, GLSL, WGSL)
Ability to solve problems in 3D geometry utilizing linear algebra
Experience encompassing all stages of software development, from prototyping to performance optimization
Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Passionate about owning and refining features

Preferred

Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
Experience in developing contemporary rendering pipelines within 3D engines
Experience in 3D game development, including the creation of commercially released titles
Familiarity with augmented AR/VR rendering technologies
