Lab Manager

The University of California, Riverside is seeking a part-time Lab Manager for the Kids Interaction and NeuroDevelopment (KIND) Lab. The lab focuses on studying emotional development and social learning in children using various research methods, and the Lab Manager will coordinate research projects, manage data, and support the research team.

Responsibilities

Coordinate multiple aspects of intensive research projects, including participant recruitment, data collection, stimulus development, programming of behavioral and neuroimaging experiments, and maintenance and analysis of behavioral and neuroimaging data
Provide general research support, such as coordinate lab meetings, manage teams of research assistants, assist with IRB and grant proposal generation, maintain study databases and lab documentation, and author manuscripts for publication

Required

Graduation from high school or a General Education Diploma
Undergraduate-level statistics course and experience with statistical analysis packages (e.g., SPSS, R, MPlus, etc.)
Two years of laboratory experience or two years of college including courses in the natural, physical or social sciences and one year of laboratory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
Some exposure to one or more programming language (e.g., Matlab, Python, Javascript, shell scripting, etc.)
Experience conducting independent research in psychology or neuroscience
Experience analyzing neuroimaging data (e.g., AFNI, SPM, FSL, or similar platforms)
Strong computer programming skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated background for research experience with children and families
Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational and time management skills

Preferred

Bachelor degree in psychology, cognitive science, computer science, or a related field
Ability to occasionally work weekends for participant testing
Spanish language abilities are a plus, as many of the families we work with are bilingual
