Financial Aid Counselor
Coppin State University is seeking a Financial Aid Counselor to provide personal and financial aid application counseling to students and parents. The role involves assisting in the administration of the financial aid program and making decisions to award funds to eligible students.

Responsibilities
Serving as the first point of contact for students and parents inquiring about Financial Aid
Helping students apply for Federal, State and Institutional aid and providing the status of their applications
Provide moderately complex administrative support to an individual, office, department, or program
Verification of FAFSA data
Reviewing tax information
Confirming number in household
Making corrections to the FAFSA and documenting any professional judgement situations
Assisting families with their Financial Aid questions at campus visit and text events
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
1-3 years of experience with customer service, in a financial, education, accounting, counseling, or related field
Excellent knowledge and experience with technology, including equipment (PCs, scanners; etc.); software applications (student systems, MS Office; MS TEAMS; Zoom; Etrieve or similar document imaging technology; financial aid programs), PeopleSoft; as well as the ability and motivation to acquire and apply new knowledge and implement new software applications
