Nelson Lab - Junior Specialist

Responsibilities
Collaborative management of our transgenic mouse colony (including breeding, genotyping, and weaning of mice) and ordering of supplies
Postmortem neuroanatomical studies, including brain sectioning, immunohistochemistry, and imaging
Learning new lab techniques and participation in individual or collaborative research projects
Attending and participating in lab meetings
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree (or equivalent degree) or at least four years of research experience
Candidates must meet the required qualifications at the time of appointment
Candidate's CV must state qualifications or if pending upon submission
A minimum of one year of Neuroscience wet lab experience
Ability to perform genotyping (PCR), immunohistochemistry (brain sectioning, staining, imaging), and basic rodent handling skills are required
Preferred
Rodent behavioral assays, stereotaxic surgery, systems neuroscience approaches, coding skills in Matlab and/or Python
