Akkodis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer IV for a Contract with a client in Cupertino, CA. The ideal candidate will support engineering analysis by preparing detailed finite element models and ensuring proper pre‑ and post‑processing workflows.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed finite element models in Abaqus CAE to simulate mechanical, structural, and thermal behavior
Perform full pre‑processing tasks including geometry clean‑up in NX, meshing, material definition, and applying boundary conditions and loads
Pre‑process and post‑process complex FEA simulations, ensuring accurate setup, element quality, and proper interpretation of results
Troubleshoot modeling issues, refine meshes, and improve model convergence and computational efficiency
Create and update material models using testing data and apply advanced element grouping and keyword techniques
Collaborate with engineering teams, maintain documentation, and stay current with best practices and advancements in FEA tools and methodologies

Qualification

Finite Element ModelingAbaqus CAENX CADMaterial Model DevelopmentCollaboration

Required

Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in finite element modeling using Abaqus CAE
Strong proficiency in meshing, material model development, and FEA model preparation
Experience with NX CAD for geometry cleanup and preparation, with additional familiarity in ANSA or Hypermesh as a plus
