Responsibilities

Working in conjunction with the leaders of other businesses and Shared Services HR departments to develop and/or implement HR policies, practices and systems that conform to related corporate standards and meet the needs of the site
Communicating and explaining Company HR policies and practices to managers and employees while providing sound advice, guidance, and coaching
Developing staffing plans and forecasts, succession plans, directs recruiting actions, and managing reductions in force
Developing and implementing programs to maintain positive employee relations and building relationships with local communities and business/educational institutions
Conducting investigations into employee complaints and grievances, ensuring fair and consistent resolution
Maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
Handling employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
Serving as the primary contact for union representation, fostering strong, effective relationships to maintain workplace harmony

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, business administration, management, or a related field
Five to seven years of progressively responsible HR experience
Demonstrated success of leading the HR function in a union environment. Experience managing the grievance process, resolving complex disputes and arbitrations in partnership with union representatives
Strong leadership skills to guide their team effectively and manage HR operations
Strong consulting, influencing, and negotiation skills on all HR disciplines, including recruitment, talent, leadership development, performance management, organizational design, and compensation
Proven ability to provide guidance and conduct investigations of concerns and complaints; involve appropriate individuals, seek advice when appropriate, and successfully resolve issues with credible, creative, and consistent solutions
Proven time management skills and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks effectively
Familiarity with HRIS system, SAP SuccessFactors, or similar system
Results-oriented with a track record of success in delivering on business objectives
Strong interpersonal skills are essential for handling employee relations, conflict resolution, and maintaining a positive workplace culture

Preferred

Master's degree or equivalent; or five to seven years related experience and/or training
Manufacturing or warehousing environment experience preferred
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certifications preferred
