Applications Manager
The Town of Marana is seeking a full-time Applications Manager within their Information Technology Department. This role involves providing technical leadership and direction for the Town's Application Division, overseeing software development, database management, and project management while ensuring efficient operation of the Town’s enterprise systems.

Responsibilities
Provides leadership and development to assigned staff; establishes team goals and objectives of the functional area(s)
Participates in the recruitment process, ensures adequate staffing levels, evaluates work performance, ensures policy and procedure compliance, and provides guidance in employee relations matters
Responsible for project and program management, to include project intake, prioritization, buy/build decisions, resource allocation, budgeting, scheduling, etc. Serves as an interface between functional users and technical resources. Makes recommendations for new applications technologies
Makes recommendations for applications software and services use across the enterprise, as well as within the IT department
Oversees software support contracts by identifying software that requires support contracts, gathers quotes, negotiates contract terms, and requests fiscal funding
Manages software application portfolio and researches new technologies by monitoring status of applications; applies configuration changes; schedules maintenance or determines software end-of-life; requests funding for purchasing replacement solutions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, business administration or closely related field
Over three years of experience in information technology, project management, software application administration or closely related field
Three years of supervisory experience OR one year of supervisory experience and participates in the Town's leadership development program within one year of hire date
Must pass a fingerprint clearance and pre-employment background check
Preferred
Over three years of experience with software application administration
Over one year of experience administering software application services with either Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure
Over one year of experience administering municipal government application environments, e.g., Tyler Munis Enterprise ERP, Laserfiche, CentralSquare Community Development, CityView
Over one year of experience with software development or software development methodologies, e.g., Agile, DevOps
