Responsibilities
Provides primary support for network core, edge, VPN, routers, firewalls, and networking to remote locations
Troubleshoots complex network problems, monitors utilization, and recommends improvements to IT services
Provides back-up support for 80 server VMWare environment, including storage, enterprise back-up (Commvault), hardware, VMWare, Microsoft Windows server, ADFS authentication, Office 365
Collaborates with vendors and consultants to resolve issues and identify and integrate solutions to meet the IT needs of the college
Utilizes software tools such as SolarWinds to troubleshoot on premise issues as well as connectivity / integration issues with cloud based services
Participate in the college's IT Security Plan to continuously improve the IT security posture of the college, including the review of security logs, system configurations, responding to malicious email, and protecting confidential data
Provides support to network attached devices such as security cameras, IP based telephones, and digital signage
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in information technology systems, computer science, or related field
Two years of experience in information technology systems or related area
Knowledge of WAN / LAN architecture, design, and troubleshooting
Knowledge of VMWare, data center storage, data center principles, IT security and Windows server operating system
Understanding of Office 365 configuration
