InternHayward Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Production and Operational Efficiency Intern to understand process efficiencies and create accurate reports for Daily Gemba tracking. The role involves gaining hands-on experience in manufacturing, calculating production efficiencies, and participating in continuous improvement events.

Responsibilities
Gain hands-on experience in a real-world manufacturing environment to apply knowledge learned in the classroom
Understand how to calculate and improve production efficiencies
Reduce downtime associated with eight wastes
Interfacing with an ERP System
Identify efficiency improvements to existing assembly lines and realize cost savings by line balancing
Participate in daily GEMBA walks
Participate and lead Kaizen/Continuous Improvement Events
Create and promote a new 5S implementation strategy for the production floor
Collaborate daily with Production Operators to better understand manufacturing processes
Identify gaps and opportunities in standard work
Create/update standard work documentation
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in the field of Engineering or Business
Good academic standing
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Excellent computer skills; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
ERP/MRP background
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
Rising Junior or Senior in a degree program for Bachelor of Science degree (B.S) from a four-year college or university in Business or another related field
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, stand and walk
The employee will frequently be required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
