Responsibilities

Performs skilled and complicated mechanical work on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components, in the time allotted with minimum supervision
Performs trouble shooting and preventative maintenance
Writes itemized summary for each repair performed
Properly clocks on and off applicable repair orders and repair segments
Works with and helps train Apprentice Diesel Technicians
Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools
Advises if additional repair work is necessary
Maintains favorable relations with customers
Participates in training to stay abreast of new technology
Adheres to and promotes company safety policy
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualification

Diesel Technician CertificationCDLBDiagnostics SoftwareASE CertificationElectrical TroubleshootingEPA 609 CertificationOSHA Safety ProceduresCommunication Skills

Required

A OR B Diesel Technician, with automotive experience servicing medium, light and heavy duty trucks, trailers
Experience performing diagnosis, repairs and services
Experience with hydraulics, crane, outrigger, liftgates and forklifts
Previous repair experience
Must have CDL A or B or be willing to get one
knowledge of diagnostics software
3-5 years' experience repairing and maintaining diesel engines
Strong electrical/diagnostic tools and troubleshooting experience
Excellent communication skills and ability to handle customer inquiries
Able to perform all functions of a fully qualified heavy duty truck repair under minimal supervision
Utilized OSHA safety procedures and hazardous material regulations on a daily basis

Preferred

ASE Certification preferred
DOT Certifications a plus
EPA 609 Certifications preferred
