Electro Optics/Infrared - Engineer

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy. They are seeking Electro Optics/Infrared engineers to support technical work in the development, sustainment, and operation of EO/IR systems.

Responsibilities

Develop plans and procedures for the integration, characterization, and testing of complex EO/IR test capabilities
Play a significant role in the definition and development of EO/IR test products
Develop system specifications, including design verification methods, calibration, and test procedures for EO/IR test systems
Execute tests, collect and analyze test data to optimize performance, and support system design enhancements
Perform system performance modeling, tolerance analysis, and requirements flow-down analysis to demonstrate performance compliance in support of the development, characterization, and testing of new deliverable test systems
Collaborate with Software Engineering to develop tests for infrared/visible cameras, laser tests, and test equipment control for both deliverable and in-house test equipment
Work with engineering staff to document changes made to hardware and deviations from standard procedures as necessary
Conduct concept design and analysis to support potential new customer applications

Required

Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and 4 years of related engineering experience or have an accredited Master of Science in Engineering with at least 2 years of related engineering experience or have an accredited doctoral degree in engineering
Mastery of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering that enables the employee to serve as a technical authority on projects relating to the specific programs
Sufficient knowledge and skill to apply the latest developments in engineering to solve problems in the specialty area
Excellent communication and analytical skills
Working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools
Planning/organizing skills
Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software
Valid, state-issued driver's license
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance up to top secret with special access
Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred

For entry-level positions, a Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering or Imaging Science
For journeyman-level positions, a Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Imaging Science, or another relevant engineering degree with 4+ years of direct experience in EO/IR engineering
Hands-on laboratory experience with optical system testing, optical test equipment, and optical test components for passive and/or active optical systems
Desired experience with optical and electrical measurement instrumentation
