Digital Content Coordinator
Truckee Meadows Community College is seeking a Digital Content Coordinator to manage and enhance the College's digital presence across various platforms. Responsibilities
Manage and curate content for TMCC’s primary digital platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, ensuring all content aligns with TMCC’s brand and storytelling goals
Create engaging, platform-appropriate visuals and copy, including photography, video, graphics, and written posts that reflect TMCC’s student-centered mission
Develop and publish digital newsletters that share College news, success stories, and opportunities with key stakeholder groups, including students, employees, alumni, donors, workforce partners and community leaders
Coordinate, produce, and edit blog stories and TMCC website content to extend the reach of campaigns and highlight institutional achievements
Collaborate with design, photography, and videography team members to ensure consistent branding and cohesive storytelling
Partner with the Director of Marketing & Communications to develop and implement creative campaigns that support College initiatives and priorities
Manage and mentor student content creators to ensure authentic storytelling that resonates with student audiences
Support additional Marketing and Communications projects as assigned
Build and nurture TMCC’s online community by responding to comments, messages, tags, and reviews across platforms (including Google, Yelp and Reddit), fostering dialogue and meaningful relationships with followers
Plan and maintain a consistent posting cadence through a strategic content calendar that aligns with institutional priorities, seasonal campaigns, and audience engagement trends
Ensure all shared content is intentional, timely, and relevant with tone as messaging tailored to specific audiences
Partner with campus departments to source authentic stories and create audience-informed campaigns that enhance visibility and engagement
Develop and coordinate a digital ambassador program that empowers students and employees to contribute and share collaborative content, expanding TMCC’s storytelling reach across multiple platforms
Collaborate with the Director of Marketing & Communications to evaluate content performance, refine engagement tactics, and align community-building efforts with TMCC’s overall marketing objectives
Audit and provide oversight of departmental social media accounts to ensure brand consistency, compliance with guidelines, and unified messaging
Provide training, tools, and consultation for departmental account administrators to strengthen their ability to plan, create, and manage content effectively
Act as a collaborative resource for faculty, staff, and students to align their content contributions with TMCC’s overall branding and messaging
Supervise and mentor student content creators, providing hands-on guidance to develop skills in social media storytelling and digital production
Encourage and provide guidance to Executive Director and College leadership in leveraging their personal brand to share key messages and model authentic, mission-aligned engagement with TMCC content across social media
Monitor emerging digital trends, platforms, and tools to identify creative opportunities that enhance TMCC’s brand visibility and engagement
Evaluate and recommend new social media channels, formats, or features when strategically aligned with TMCC’s audience and goals
Introduce innovative approaches to content creation, automation, and storytelling that improve efficiency and keep TMCC’s digital presence fresh and relevant
Track, analyze, and report on digital engagement metrics across social media, newsletters, and web content, providing regular insights and recommendations to enhance reach and effectiveness
Use performance data to inform content strategy, guide posting cadence, and optimize campaigns for engagement and conversion
Employ social listening tools to monitor audience sentiment, trends, and community conversations relevant to TMCC
Collaborate with the Director of Marketing & Communications to interpret data and translate insights into actionable improvements
Serve as the primary contact for urgent or time-sensitive digital communications, ensuring timely updates during emergencies, such as weather closures, last-minute notifications, or critical announcements
Coordinate closely with the Director of Marketing & Communications during emergencies to maintain consistent messaging across all platforms
Maintain limited after-hours availability to post and manage real-time updates as needed, safeguarding TMCC’s ability to communicate quickly and effectively with students, employees, and the community
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field and one (1) year of professional experience managing organizational or institutional social media channels OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated success in developing and executing creative campaigns including social media content
Proficiency in digital content creation, including photography, videography, editing, and graphic design. (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and CapCut)
Strong writing and editing skills with attention to storytelling, clarity and brand voice
Experience with social media scheduling, analytics, and listening tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Meta Business Suite, Sprout Social)
Preferred
Familiarity with content management systems and email marketing platforms (e.g., WordPress, Constant Contact, or Mailchimp)
Bilingual proficiency, particularly in Spanish
Experience producing content for diverse, inclusive, and community-centered audiences
Document with link to a digital content portfolio or business social media account for which you are responsible

Professional Grant-in-Aid : TMCC is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate. Dependents of faculty have unlimited credits, but in order to be eligible children must be unmarried and under the age of 24 and must receive at least 50% of their financial support from the employee and/or employee’s spouse or domestic partner.
