Field Engineer
Averro is seeking a dependable, experienced, and customer-focused Field Engineer to support one of their largest clients directly from their headquarters. The role involves troubleshooting complex network issues, executing projects, and building strong relationships with end users and client leadership.

Responsibilities
Serve as the primary technical resource at the client’s headquarters in Tupelo, MS, building strong daily working relationships
Troubleshoot and resolve network, voice, and connectivity issues, including switching, wireless, firewalls, VPN, and VoIP
Support and maintain routers, switches, access points, and unified communications systems
Perform on-site installations, upgrades, and configuration changes for planned projects and escalations
Act as an escalation point for complex issues from the Help Desk and Systems Engineering teams
Work directly with carriers and vendors to resolve service and connectivity issues
Maintain clear and accurate documentation of configurations, changes, and network diagrams
Support client initiatives such as network refreshes, expansions, and system migrations
Participate in an on-call rotation for critical issues, as needed
Qualification
Required
4–6 years of experience in network engineering, voice engineering, or a similar technical role
Hands-on experience with platforms such as Cisco, Ubiquiti, Meraki, or Fortinet
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing and switching (including OSPF and BGP), QoS, and VPN technologies
Experience supporting VoIP solutions such as 3CX, Cisco Call Manager, Microsoft Teams Phone, or similar platforms
Familiarity with firewall configuration and security best practices
Experience using monitoring tools such as PRTG, SolarWinds, or ConnectWise Automate
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Clear verbal and written communication skills
Calm, professional approach when working with end users and client leadership
Ability to manage work independently while collaborating closely with remote teams
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local site visits
Basic understanding of endpoint detection and response (EDR) concepts
Preferred
Associate or Bachelor's degree in IT, Networking, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
Preferred certifications include Cisco CCNA or CCNP, CompTIA Network+ or Security+, Fortinet NSE 4 or higher, 3CX or Microsoft Teams Voice, and ITIL
