Responsibilities
Perform complex professional work involving construction management of City CIP projects to ensure they are implemented on schedule, within the project budget, and in accordance with the plans and specifications
Perform plan reviews and ensure that all land development review and permitting services conform to code for site and subdivision development, stormwater management, and land disturbing operations
Manage various programs, such as the Stormwater Program, including the MS4 Permit, and Community Rating System
Provide full management and support to planning, design, and construction for the Department of Public Works with an emphasis on infrastructure management for the City of Hampton
Supervise and direct project team members to ensure promptness of schedule within budget and requirements of the City's Stormwater Management Program
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
One (1) year of full-time equivalent experience in Stormwater Civil Engineering
Must possess a valid driver's license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record based on the City of Hampton's criteria
This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City's current substance abuse policy
Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field
Three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience in Civil Engineering
Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Virginia or have the ability to obtain licensure within one (1) year of employment
Preferred
Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification or equivalent preferred
Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification or equivalent
