Intern - Clayton CMS - Laboratory Operational Enhancement

The Clinical & Manufacturing Sciences department in Clayton is seeking a summer intern to assist in optimizing laboratory operations by identifying new equipment and supporting the integration of these tools into the laboratory environment.

Responsibilities
Updating and maintaining laboratory equipment inventories
Supporting the harmonization of analytical test instruments
Identifying and evaluating potential replacement equipment that aligns with departmental needs
Engaging with equipment vendors to gather information and build working relationships
Assisting with capital expenditure requests to ensure timely procurement and installation of new equipment
Qualification
Required
Candidate must be currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program as a rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior or be enrolled as a graduate student pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Bioprocessing Science or related field
Candidate must currently have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to search through documentation, understand current working practices, and identify efficiency opportunities
Familiarity with laboratory operations and equipment including general laboratory safety awareness
Basic skills necessary: Ability to communicate effectively and work independently with direction
