Responsibilities

Lead Technology Strategy: Develop and execute a strategic technology roadmap that aligns with business objectives, ensuring innovation and efficiency
Drive Digital Transformation: Spearhead the modernization of platforms, embracing Cloud, API, and DevOps best practices
Build and Lead High-Performing Teams: Mentor, coach, and manage engineering and delivery teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and excellence
Implement Agile Best Practices: Oversee the adoption of agile methodologies to improve delivery speed, quality, and adaptability
Enhance System Performance: Ensure scalability, security, and resilience across enterprise technology solutions
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with business leaders to align technology investments with operational goals and member needs
Optimize Financial and Resource Planning: Oversee technology budgets and resource allocation to drive cost-effective solutions
Foster Innovation: Identify and implement emerging technologies to enhance BECU’s competitive edge

Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field
7 years of people leadership experience, with experience working within or supporting DevOps, SRE and/or Cloud operations teams
Experience leading technology teams required
8 years of information technology experience with demonstrated expertise in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and automation with hands-on expertise in CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management
Domain experience with financial products (i.e. Credit Card, Mortgage, Auto Loan, Deposits, etc.) required
Experience building technology platforms and teams required

Preferred

Develop and execute strategic plans for cloud migration / DevOps implementation/ test automation and performance testing
Ensure the organization's infrastructure, tools, and processes are optimized for efficiency and scalability
Identify and address bottlenecks in development and deployment workflows
Work closely with various departments to align DevOps practices with business objectives
Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ServiceNow), scripting languages (Python, Bash), and CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Spinnaker)
Advanced knowledge of Technology fundamentals, design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and product management to understand requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
Delivery experience working under an Agile/Scrum methodology
Working experience of software engineering best practices including coding standards, release management, manage incidents, CI/CD, build processes, testing, and operations
