Responsibilities

Compose correspondence such as congressional' s for VACO - PATS­R - and VISN responses
Consolidates and finalizes information for various reports - for example the tracker spreadsheet for CC/ICM in accordance with established procedures
Review and processes incoming and outgoing correspondence - materials - publications - regulations - and directives
Screens incoming communication to identify what needs to be brought to the attention of the supervisor - referred to appropriate staff - rerouted to other services/clinics/offices - or handled personally
Assists in the development - establishment - and maintenance of office procedures to ensure effective and efficient operations regarding the administrative - clerical - and procedural work for numerous specialty programs under the SWS Specialty Section
Establishes - maintains - purges - and disposes of files and records in accordance with established regulations and procedures
Maintains and posts time and attendance reports for the assigned staff using the automated system and in accordance with established procedures Maintains leave calendar
Receives telephone calls - greets visitors - and ascertains the nature of the calls or visits
Prepare and merge documents for tele-video conferencing and live web streaming using electronic software

Required

one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05
expertise in PMDB (or similar program) as evidenced by current or ongoing certification as a PMDB Facility Trainer or Master Trainer (or experience with public speaking and/or training proficiency)
knowledge of VA - JCAHO - OSHA - and other guidelines associated with violence prevention - education - and training
knowledge of the proper procedures for preparing forms as requested by various services and committees
ability to be a role model for quality customer service and conflict resolution
strong organizational and planning skills
knowledge of the Talent Management System (TMS)
knowledge of MS Word and Excel - or comparable word processing and data analysis software
strong verbal presentation and communication skills
physical ability needed to instruct and train staff in all levels of PMDB
frequent physical effort - standing - walking - bending - sitting - and hands-on therapeutic containment activity with employees during technique demonstrations
