Social Media Content Creator, DHHS
NEOGOV is looking for a dedicated and skilled Social Media Content Creator to join the Utah Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Office of Public Affairs and Education. This role involves developing and managing social media strategies to engage the public and communicate vital information effectively across various platforms.

Responsibilities
Develop and monitor DHHS social channels to engage with the public, answer questions (in coordination with subject matter experts), and manage community sentiment
Stay ahead of social media trends and platform updates to ensure DHHS messaging remains relevant and reaches diverse statewide audiences
Assist Public Information Officers (PIOs) in disseminating critical information throughout the year
Creating storyboards, shot lists, content calendars and pre-production materials for both site and social content
Collaborate with departments and PAE team to develop engaging content that resonates across a range of social platforms like, Instagram, Facebook, X and YouTube
Capture and edit original content and have a hand in all phases of video production from pre-to-post (filming, editing, color correction, sound design, etc.)
Update and manage Linktree
Monitoring comments and messages to provide accurate information while maintaining a professional and supportive tone
Ensure all social media channels are up-to-date with correct contact information and remove broken links when found
Work with PIOs to develop owned media channels and lists
Work with creative team when needed to assist in developing internal and external content
Collaborate to have content translated for Spanish channels
Understand how to use analytics for each appropriate channel
Assist department directors in understanding and staying within guidelines set by DHHS leadership
Build coverage, messaging and baseline reports for a variety of DHHS departments
Collect data and reviews research materials, determine accuracy and validity of sources and appropriateness for use and GRAMA requests
Manages online meetings, video production, live streaming and other methods of multimedia information channels
Attend in office and remote team meetings
Qualification
Required
Three to five years experience in social media content creation, social media management, digital marketing or public relations
A portfolio showcasing content creation and management, graphic design and writing
Have a working understanding of Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and other channels, including knowledge of specific algorithm trends for each
The ability to take complex medical or social service data and 'translate' it into easy-to-understand content
Work collaboratively and productively over telework (either as a teleworker or with teleworkers)
Speak clearly, concisely and effectively; listen to, and understand information and ideas as presented verbally
Deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, respect and professionalism
Understand applicable laws, rules, regulations and or policies and procedures
Coordinate the activities or tasks of people, groups and/or organization(s)
Understand the agency and its organizational program(s)
Use word processing (Google platforms), presentation, layout/design, video streaming, and web-publishing software applications
