QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST

Responsibilities

Directs work activities through subordinates with responsibility for maintaining a current knowledge and guiding subordinate employees to provide advice, accountability, and expertise on a continuous basis
Plans work to be accomplished by subordinate employees, sets and adjusts short and long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work
Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities and consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees
Finds ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed
Develops performance standards and explains classification determinations to subordinates
Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the organization, ensuring operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs
Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization objectives
Establishes, revises, or reviews policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff, as necessary to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement quality improvements, or in response to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements
Establishes metric and analysis systems for units managed to assess efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory procedures
Identifies need for change in organization priorities and takes action to implement such changes
Establishes review systems for the organization that make certain government needs are met and validated, and that economy and quality of operations are maintained or improved
Reviews training recommended by subordinate supervisors to assure it is proper and promotes effective operation of the organization
Participates in special operation projects and initiatives and performs special assignments
Identifies the need for special projects and initiates milestones and goals
Evaluates reports by analyzing facts and performing appropriate research and prepares detailed responses
Researches and determines or recommends appropriate actions or interpretation of issues that impact organization, installation, command, or agency
Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with appropriate offices and officials
Able to meet with key customers and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolves significant problems that arise
Evaluates reports by analyzing facts and performing appropriate research and prepares detailed responses
Determines appropriate recommendations for unresolved or questionable problems and performs follow-up
Researches and determines or recommends appropriate actions or interpretation of issues that impact organization, installation, command, or agency

Required

U.S. Citizenship
Obtain & maintain a Security clearance
Knowledge of the applicable principles, concepts, policies, and laws; functions, programs, and systems applicable to the duties of position; sources, responsibilities, and means for providing assistance and advice to resolve problems; and all aspects of support
Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures
Ability to plan, organize, and direct mentor, motivate and appraise the staff of a small to medium sized organization
Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information, make appropriate judgments, and evaluate options
Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
