Part-Time Student Digital Forensics Intern
Indiana University (IU) Public Safety is committed to providing safety for all members of the IU community. The Part-Time Student Digital Forensics Intern will manage evidence intake, maintain chain of custody, conduct data acquisition from digital devices, and create forensic reports.

Manages evidence intake
Maintains chain of custody through thorough documentation
Captures photographs of digital evidence
Keeps contemporaneous notes to document actions performed with digital evidence
Collaborates with peers, officers, and detectives
Conducts data acquisition from a variety of digital devices
Creates forensic reports
Analyzes data obtained from digital evidence
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University and in good academic standing
Pursuing a degree in the IU Indianapolis Paul H. O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs
Cumulative GPA above 2.5 while in program
Valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University upon date of hire
Exceptional writing abilities
Excellent critical thinking skills
Ability to sign a confidentiality agreement and maintain high confidentiality regarding all investigations
Ability to deal with potentially distressing and graphic subject matter
Preferred
Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking
Basic familiarity with mobile device technologies and operating systems
Demonstrated knowledge of social networking platforms and applications (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Kik, TikTok, etc.)
