Scalence L.L.C. is seeking a Senior Software Developer with strong Python expertise to support the development and enhancement of mission-critical applications. This role will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including feature development, code refactoring, and system modernization.

Responsibilities

Support the development and enhancement of mission-critical applications
Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including feature development, code refactoring, defect resolution, technical debt reduction, system modernization, and platform migration
Support both customer-facing and internal applications using modern software frameworks and engineering best practices

Required

Minimum of 5 years of backend software development experience using Python
Extensive hands-on experience with Python libraries and frameworks, including Pandas, NumPy, Gunicorn, Celery, SQLAlchemy, Flask, and FastAPI
Strong background in database-driven systems and large-scale data processing, including financial or currency-based datasets
Proven experience designing and managing Python concurrency for long-running batch processes with robust operational controls (cancel, restart, resume, status tracking, and fault recovery)
Demonstrated expertise in writing automated unit, integration, regression, performance, and acceptance tests
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and familiarity with Agile development methodologies

Preferred

Graduate degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
Experience in financial accounting, fixed income products, or capital markets
Hands-on experience with Temporal.io
