Responsibilities

Collaborate with the engineering team to conceptualize and develop the range extended electric vehicle platform, which includes the chassis & drive train, battery pack, range extender, and key structural components
Partner with other concept & systems architect teams to come up with solutions to engineering & functional challenges through creation of 3D CAD packaging proposals
Critically review available technical systems and propose an engineering improvement &/or customer experience
Develop the concept architecture and vehicle integration for the scalable platform
Collaborate in design & creating a 3D input for simulation environment that allows the system architecture, concepts & ideas to be put to test for other systems engineers to utilize
Create detailed design documentation, including 2D and 3D drawings, specifications, and design guidelines for the platform
Creating prototype architectures for physical and computer verification & stress testing

Required

Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Design, or a related field
6+ years of experience in concept engineering, specifically with concept lead platforms/variants, module selection and modification in the automotive industry
Proficiency in CAD software such as CATIA V5, Teamcenter, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX, and other design visualization tools. PLM experience is highly appreciated
Proficiency in office products such as Microsoft Office Suite and JIRA
Familiarity with automotive industry safety standards and regulations including IIHS/NHTSA, SAE, and C/FMVSS
Proven ability to work in a truly cross-functional and global environment
Minimum of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required for all roles at Scout Motors, Inc
